Let's say that I am scoring around 520 on CR with an average vocab, without memorizing the DH words. If I memorize all 400 words how much do you think my score would increase? How much did DH raise your score?

It depends on how well you normally do on sentence completion. If you’re not getting around 17/19 correct or better on sentence completion regularly, then I would recommend getting it. On average, Direct Hits will probably help anywhere from 50 to 100 pts (that’s just a rough estimate). They don’t only help for the sentence completion, but also for unfamiliar words in the passages as well. Trust me, if you have an average vocabulary, you are probably like most people on this board and getting the books will help you a great deal.

Before I started studying DH I was only getting around 10/18 of the sentence completions correct.

I am around #230 in DH, so I can’t wait to see my progress after I’m done memorizing my vocab :)

Do you think I will be able to consistently score over 15/19?

Direct hits will help you, but to a great extent.

Majority of the questions in CR are passage reading.

As Ammadash54 said, direct hits will only increase your score 50-100 pts.

While memorizing Direct Hits, practice more CR sections and read more books (well-acclaimed ones).
