actually not at all, you can believe whatever you wnat. but all im saying is that sometimes they will take a kid like that.. ssats are important but they arent everything.

I agree with boarder940. Even the most selective prep schools have no bottom line for SSAT scores. Students do get in to top schools with scores less than 50%. They are looking at the whole package!!!

Yes, but u will have to come with some "hooks"..reasons why the school would want you..since they have so many 99th percentile applicant they can fit their entire class with them IF THEY WANT...but apparently they also look for other quality or reasons..but you gotta have them to make them pick you over the perfect SSAT 4.0 applicant..........

Maybe there are a lot of liars, but I never met anyone with anywhere near a 50. Then again, I never got to know a PG well.

That's true bearcats...and we all know there are a lot of "hooks" out there. Yes suze if I got < 50 percentile I wouldn't let on either.

umm if i remember, i always wanted to go to a bs. so when i was in 6th grade i looked into andover and the average was 93. in seventh grade i looked again and it was 93. and guess what the averege in eigth grade was.... 93!!!!!!!!! are they not updating their website????????

Hey I currently go to a top 5 boarding school and my SSATs were downright awful. I had 37% in reading, 71% in math, and 68% in the other thing.

I am absolutely not a legacy, hook, athlete, minority, or anything else. My grades were tremendous (all A+, though that's not saying much for my middle school) and I had unique extracurricular activities, good essays, etc. I also did well in my interview and marketed myself just right by showing the potential to thrive at the school. I got wait listed, simply sent in a letter saying that I really wanted to go (didn't think it would do anything though) and then 2 weeks later I got a call saying "you're in if you want" and it changed my life.

Grades were average. I got a B and a C (had reasons I brought up in the interview on my accord). My SSATs were good (99%) but trust me SSATs don't matter if you can get more then 90% at the top schools.

sometimes kids with high ssat's can go to schools which aren't as prestigious. I know a kid who got in like the 70's or 80's on his SSAT who is going to the Gunnery, which isn't as prestigious as Westminster where he also got accepted
