So my gpa is a 3.6 UW (okay maybe not low but by CC standards), but I go to one of the toughest high schools in the country, ranked ~50th in the country by us news (then again, how accurate are their rankings). I took a pretty rigorous course load, with 3 AP classes this year and 4 next year. I have a 2250 superscore on the SAT, and it kinda has me in the middle of a lot of places. On the one hand, my SAT exceeds some places I'm looking at, and on the other, my gpa is a little below. Just taking my gpa and sat into consideration, how would I fare at schools like NYU Stern, Michigan Ross, etc?

If you truly do go to one of the toughest schools in the country, colleges will know that, and they won’t use it against you. In fact, it will probably help you. A 3.6 UW isn’t that low for NYU or Michigan, its about average. The fact that you’re taking hard classes will help you though. If your other stuff (recommendations, ECs, essays, etc.) is good, then you should be fine for these two schools and others that are similar in selectivity.
