My daughter has received an invitation to apply via this aplication. Is there any advantage to doing so? Anyone else had experience with it?

I am not sure if there is any advantage of using the Loyola Advantage Application over the Common Application. There is the school of thought that says using a college’s own application shows more interest. The other school of thought is that colleges do not care which application you use. My son is attending Loyola on a Presidential scholarship and used the Loyola Advantage Application. However, I believe he used the Common Application recommendation forms for Loyola as he had used these recommendation forms for all his schools.
My son did say he was able to use his essay from the Loyola Advantage Application and modify it for the Common Application. Loyola was top on my son’s list so he wanted to use their application to show his interest. He was admitted into all seven of his schools. He really fell in love with Loyola and is very happy there. He knows he made the right choice.
Good Luck with your college search.

I applied by common application and got in early decision. I liked the common application more becuase it let me turn in my essay with unlimited amount of words(I did 4 pages i think). Loyola is a good college and its in the best place in Baltimore city. All the dorms are pretty sweet and the environments nice.

Thank you for your input!

I just got the same email today… What does it mean

We called when D applied and was told it didn’t matter. D used the common app. If you are interested in Honors, do realize that requires a separate app. D is there in the Honors program and absolutely loves it.
