I'm only a junior and plan to take a visit to both colleges. I'm not particularly SET on one of these colleges but so far they're my top. I live in INDIANA and want to go to big city for college.

Which college do you think has a better reputation? Is there anyone on here that went to one of these colleges? Loyola seems like it's a better college but its at least 15 thousand more than IUPUI and I don't want to be in debt the rest of my life (and im not sure how many scholarships, etc, i would get. If I went to IUPUI i'd be with more friends and less uncomfortable the first few weeks/months. However, Chicago would most likely be better for my major (most likely communications or something with the entertainment industry OR travel/tourism)

What are your thoughts? Can someone else give me their point of view other than just me going to their websites?

Loyola Chicago is a good school. Top 100 school. Can take advantage of the big city (and Evanston). Tuition is expensive though and social life is all about getting off campus. Students are friendly, administrators helpful and professors challenging.

IUPUI and LUC are very different schools. Explore why you like each one, and you may find out exactly what is you're looking for.

I don't think I can begin to comment unless/until you have complete fin aid information. I have good things to say about LUC, but I'm generally against taking out major loans for undergrad, even for Ivies.

sorry to post on your thread. I just have a question for hanna because she seems like she would be able to give me a good RELIABLE answer. I've asked lots of different people, but I keep getting mixed responses.

How do loyola and depaul compare in terms of academics and student body?

Of those that enroll, ACT scores are slightly higher for Loyola (23-28 to 21-26). The schools attract the same type of students, maybe more science-oriented for Loyola. The student body is a bit more diverse at DePaul, including a closer female/male ratio.
