<p>What are your thoughts on Loyola University Chicago? I was just at the campus taking a tour and what I would like to know what my peers think of this University.</p>

<p>Then again, I go to UChicago, so I'm familiar with Chicago schools.</p>
<p>I think it's a great location (along with DePaul) and it's uberurban but with Lake Michigan on one side :-)</p>
<p>It's not quite as competitive as most of the schools mentioned on these forums, and I don't think it's known very much outside of Chicago and the midwest. At the same time, though, I don't think UChicago is known that well, either, (I'm from the east coast, and there are a LOT of other schools that have more of a name-recognition... I almost want to tell people I go to "Chicagoyou'veneverheardofit" hehe...) but it didn't stop me from attending my dream school.</p>
<p>I considered Loyola Chicago for a while. I wanted to apply to one Loyola school and I thought that it was better than the one in new Orleans given it has the better ranking and more programs. </p>
<p>I thought it was a pretty good school. ended up applying, got in but didnt attend. its got several solid programs. The facilities are top notch and the new campus construction project should do wonders. </p>
<p>its also managed to do quite a lot as it is now a nationally ranked school.
the only problem is its lack of national recognition. thats one of the reasons I didnt attend in the end. most ppl outside the midwest will immediately think New Orleans when u mention Loyola even though Chicago is way better.</p>
<p>My cousin went there and just graduated. She loved it, and now she's going to MIT for grad. She studied a ton of languages with some sort of public policy major.</p>
