loyola maramount

what do you guys know about it?

oops i mean

Loyola Marymount

For being in LA, I feel it falls inferior to USC and UCLA in terms of name recognition. I don't think I'd shell out money to attend a private school like LMU, especially when there's better schools in los angeles alone and throughout california. The UC's within itself I feel are better bargains for the return on your education.

what are some other good schools in cali then that aren't in the UC system (lookin for privates)

Occidental, the five Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, Scripps), Stanford, Pepperdine. All these are top 70ish.

Son visited it and loved it. Gorgeous school. Great admissions deal in my book.

i'm also lookin for scholarship money so i thought that might be a good safety, incase i cant afford to go to the other schools.

Catholic colleges tend to be great admissions values for those who want merit aid and a good location along with a good education. I count LM as one of such schools. My son will be looking at it next year.
