Loyola Marymount Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2023 Admission

My daughter got into both also, and Pepperdine. Just fyi… I live 5 mins from Chapman and housing is a concern here, too. Just didn’t want you to think it was easy here :grimacing: She can come live with us. We’ll have an empty room. Mine wants to get out of the OC, so she’ll prob go to one of the other 2, unless SD or SB become an option.

It stated in the letter for the “school,” not just major.

Anyone applying to the honors college at LMU? Do you know what the benefits are? Looks like only a small number in honors?

My DC23 has decided to decline LMU’s offer - but for the life of me I can’t find the button to decline - there’s one to accept, but there’s no clear place to decline the offer. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Daughter accepted EA, though no scholarship/financial aid info yet. Where those sent already?

My daughter just got her merit award 30 minutes ago to her inbox. She applied early action.

received email and have a new status update on the portal with Financial Aid letter

If you are OK with it, please share. LMU generally does not have a great reputation for being generous with merit awards but every year is different.

Just received merit scholarships for those who didn’t know they came out.

21K per yr plus EA merit of additional 2k ( 86k total)

$6500 plus $2000 for EA. Wish it had been more. 3.98 W, 7 AP and Honors, so not super high GPA. Sports, volunteer service, part time job.

14k per year for us. Sadly, with 84k cost of attendance estimate, LMU doesn’t look viable for ours. Hope others get some good news!

Help CC. I cannot make sense of this financial aid offer. The original letter said my S received a scholarship of $2,500/year - but his financial aid breakdown of direct grants and loans eligibility lists a much higher set of awards. And the math factors that in for total amount owed. Does that mean he actually received those scholarships - or that he was merely eligible for consideration but did not receive? I ask because the grand total on the last line still shows he is responsible for $84k. Confused. Any insight appreciated. TIA.

You want to look at the line that is labeled Remaining Direct Cost. That is your out of pocket before loans.

Perfect. Thank you!

Is there any way to know which scholarships/grants/awards are for all 4 years? The letter talks about one scholarship and I’ve read the EA award does continue for all 4 years, but the FA breakdown shows another award and another scholarship and I haven’t been able to find any information on either of them. They definitely could have made the FA breakdown less confusing!

What are the names of the ones you don’t recognize?
