I'm from D.C. so I had never really heard of it until I started looking at film schools. Is their English program good? Are they a good school in general?

Thanks!

I'm actually applying to LMU for film school. I'm unfamiliar with their English department though. Their film school focuses primarily on Hollywood style. It qualifies as being very good, a step below Chapman in the ranks. USC and UCLA rejects mostly go either there or Chapman to pursue a degree in film. It's a couple of minutes away from LA so internships are abundant and easily feasible. Alumnus will probably be listed on their official website. Aside from the great film school, they have a beautiful campus with lush palm trees and wonderful weather. They have a "bluff" meaning a hill overlooking LA. It is an excellent choice for film if you don't get accepted to the high caliber schools.

Really? I plan on doing the same. I know you have to do a separate essay for the particular school but I don't think they even encourage sending in a portfolio. What do you hope to focus on? I hope to write.

I want to direct. I'd like to do film AND tv there...take some screenwriting classes as well. And you are correct, they don't take portfolios in. I forgot to add some stuff...

Unlike USC and UCLA, you get to own your films. The average transfer GPA for the film school is a 3.4 while USC/UCLA is a 3.7. Kay, I think I covered it all now.
