I'm not gonna be able to visit far away colleges and I feel like research has only gotten me so far. Can any LMU students tell me about
- the general atmosphere (academic + social life, and whether the pendulum sways more toward one or the other)
- surrounding life + whether the school feels really isolated or integrated
- research opportunities--are they hard to get or can anyone start researching right away if they seek out opportunities?
- what are the students like? Is the college diverse or is there a "typical" student?
- history, anthropology, other social science majors--generally, are they amazing, good, okay, or subpar?
- the quality of the premed program or advising/whether it has much success or not

I don’t go there, but my mom and cousin did and I am a prospective student.
I’ve visited the campus many times and it is GORGEOUS. Right by the beach and LAX, you can do a lot if you have a car/use the school’s transportation.
As for the students, I heard there are a lot of snobs who are really into Greek life, but great people too if you look hard enough. Even if your school has a few snobs, LA has so many opportunities to make friends with other college students if you just get out and explore.
The academic reviews are mixed; some say they’re a joke and some say its fairly rigorous. It’s subjective and you’re going to have to find out for yourself.
I wouldn’t have posted this (as I am not a student) but I saw you didn’t have any other answers, so I might as well try to help!
Maybe I’ll see you there!
