Loyola Marymount..

So.. deciding whether I should go here. Any talk?

Anyone?? Any information?

LMU is very close to the beach, so it’s easy to go for a walk, run, bike ride, bon fire or enjoy any of the small coastal neighborhoods: Playa Del Rey, Marina Del Rey, Venice to the north, Manhattan, Hermosa to the south. Living by the coast also means the weather is better, with a nice breeze that pushes smog inland where it settles. Westchester is an easy to live in neighborhood … close to markets and very close to LAX, which is great for those flying to and from LMU. The diversity of Los Angeles … economic, spiritual, political and cultural … adds a whole other learning experience for those from less diverse areas and smaller towns. The campus itself, situated on a bluff with a great view looking west to Marina Del Rey and the ocean, north towards Santa Monica Mountains and Hollywood Hills, and east to downtown LA, is beautiful and a nice place to come back to after exploring the rest of Los Angeles. Classes are small, faculty and staff are there for you the student. Great study abroad programs and volunteer programs. Housing is great, especially apartments for upper-division students … or you can rent in the neighborhood. Student population size around 5,500 is good, for those who want something bigger than a small 1,500 private, but smaller than a 30,000 state university. The nice weather is appreciated by those coming from cold climates, where they have snow and temperatures below zero … a nice surprise to sometimes have 90 degrees in January on campus.
