What are the ups and downs of these two schools in Chicago downtown.
Loyola is placed a bit higher in USNEWS ranking, but many say that DePaul has a better reputation in business which I major in. Which of the two would be an ideal choice for a person who is looking to go to Grad school?

Anybody?........

I posted this same thread with the same subject, but unfortunately I too have not recieved much of a response. Sunada777 did you apply to both? Personally I did and I am still waiting for the decision. Here is what I know, Loyola is ranked 112 on the nations best universities list, DePaul is not. However, Depaul was ranked earlier last year or the year prior to that (I believe) as the institution with the most happiest students in America. Considering your pursuing in the field of business, DePaul would seem to be a good fit for you. Plus the internships grads recieve from DePaul esp. in the convenient location of Chicago are quite swell as well. Check out the Wiki DePaul entry, I think you will find that helpful.

thanks for your thought, Kunf.
I have not applied to those schools yet! I am waiting for a decision from UIUC. Even though I highly doubt that I will get into the Finance major which I've applied, I prefer going to somewhat better ranked school or nationally recognized school. One of the reasons I am thinking about going to DePaul despite the fact that it is a Tier 3 school is because I live in Chicago and my parents still need me for their business.
Anyways, because I will be shooting for the top14 law school probably a year after the graduation, I don't suppose I really need go to top 50 national university. But my dillema is that I might be going back to my home country to practice law after several years of practice in Chicago. I am afraid that I might regret choosing DePaul or Loyola over a number of top50 national universities I have got accepted to. You know, life is sooooo complicated....
