Loyola U New Orleans vs Loyola Marymount U

I will be majoring in business, but I also care about the location of the school! One is in New Orleans and one is in Los Angeles. I am just wondering where I will have a better time!

Hey nalexa!

I’m currently a student here at Loyola University New Orleans, so hopefully I’ll be of some help to you. I don’t know much about Loyola Marymount, but I can tell you that you definitely wouldn’t be making a mistake if you came to New Orleans! New Orleans has so much culture- whether you’re interested in food, music, art, the outdoors, or sports, there is definitely something here for you. In addition to that, the southern hospitality you’ll experience here is hard to rival!

Aside from that, we have an amazing business school! Our College of Business offers majors in general business, international business, management, marketing, economics, finance and accounting. Beginning in your freshman year as a business major, you’ll be paried up with an executive mentor (a successful business person who is usually a Loyola alum) that will guide you through preparing for your career in the business world. You’ll also start working on your business portfolio your freshman year, which includes alot of professional development like interviewing skills, writing and building up your resume, etc. The College of Business and the Career Development Center at Loyola are both helpful in helping you find awesome internships. I personally have friends in the College of Business who have done or are currently doing internships with the New Orleans Saints, the New Orleans Tourism Bureau, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Voodoo Fest- the list goes on. There are also study abroad programs at Loyola specifically tailored for the College of Business.

Really the best advice I can give you is to visit both schools. Picking a college is a very personal choice, so visiting campus is essential to making an informed decision! Good luck!
