Loyola University Chicago Excel App?

I received an email from Loyola to apply using their "Excel Application," which is their streamlined/easier application I assume gets sent to prospective students with high academic standing. I submitted it, and my transcript, counselor documents, and test scores have been sent to and received by them.

I know Loyola is rolling admission and that it will take some time for them to review my application and get back to me, but I'm very confused about the process for the Excel Application versus the regular application. I haven't been able to find anything about it online, so I figured I'd turn to College Confidential.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

(P.S.: I understand that this might not be the best place to post this, but the Loyola forums are dead and I wanted to make sure people would be able to see this and maybe shed some light.)

Yea I recieved Excel application too but what are you confused about? Just apply, no essays, you get a chance at all eligible scholarships. Not doing the regular essay doesn’t mean you are a slacker ot lazy which will detract from your application, it just means you can get accepted faster and are enticed to go there.

@master1006‌ I’m confused about just the general process of it. I’ve submitted my application and all that, but there’s no way for me to check the status of my application from what I can find.

Well if everything is recieved by them, then what’s to be confused about? All you have to do now is wait and watch ;)

Btw what did you write in your “give us some additional aspects” box in your application? The one where it says you are a top applicant, but just add a bit more if you like part. I would have completed my application but for being confused on that. I am not asking for specifics, just what to do there :)

Hello, I have a question regarding the letter of recommendation you are supposed to give. Can it be a teacher recommendation or just a counselor recommendation ? Thank you.

@nnassif96‌ When a school asks for letters of recommendation, they almost always are asking for teacher recommendations. Counselors fill out forms and documents after you submit your application, and that usually includes a letter from them about you. If you don’t know which one to submit, always go with a teacher’s letter.
