loyola vs villanova. how do they compare for mathematics ?
thanks,
probably-overly-concerned-father

Villanova is (without question) better in Math. Loyola is more on the liberal arts side as oppose to anything else. Both are good schools nonetheless, which is why I applied to both hahaha.

Nova has a definite edge

I know people who have gotten accepted to Loyola and denied from Villanova, and I know an equal amount of people who have gotten accepted to Villanova and denied from Loyola. Loyola is hands down more fun, I have visited Nova a few times over night and its no wonder they call it VillaNoFun.

loyoladude: Is loyal practicing yield protection? That would be the only explanation if what you say is true. Loyola is a good school but Villanova is much more selective. I hate to admit it but it is true. Loyola is more on par with St. Joe’s and Scranton.

*Loyola (10 char)

Highly doubt that loyal practicing yield protection. I think this year they really focused on a lot of factors when admitting students. If you did early action you showed the school you where interested. If you applied last second to just apply then they probably thought you weren’t serious about really applying. If their accepting weight listed people now that just shows how they did accept students with good stats that just ended up going to other schools. Villanova is #1 north master and Loyola is #3 north masters, 15 score difference, by Princeton the review. I was denied Virginia tech but accepted to University of Delaware. Sometimes things just happens during admission decisions that you just have to accept. Sometimes schools ranked higher may want you more than a school ranked right bellow it.

Forgot, to say to look at the curriculum’s. Maybe that my help you decide on which math program is better for you.
