LOYOLA VS villanova

My s was accepted into both. The difference in aid packages is about 15K a year, 60K for the whole 4 years. If that were not in consideration which would you pick? I don't want to say money is no object but we luckily can pay for it whether it be Loyola or Nova. He wants to major in Communications and minor in marketing.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would say Villanova has more name recognition and a better reputation. It is also more selective. I am assuming Loyola is offering more aid or this would be a no brainer. I think Loyola is more of a peer school or match with Scranton or St. Joseph’s than Villanova. There may be a reason they are offering your son more money (i.e. he is an applicant that is on a higher level than their typical and they want to entice him). I am not saying this to disparage Loyola since it is a good school and I know a couple people who went there who have done very well.

If money is not a real concern I’d choose nova. If it is going to break the bank or risk your security go with Loyola. In the end, sucess has more to do with the individual than it does with what schools they attended.
