ls1 aaaaah

:( I really wished the LS1 finals was multiple choiced. Too much information to cover and too many pointless names to memorize. Does anyone know if they ever released the score breakdown of the second midterm? I hope the other LS's aren't as bad as this in terms of nonsensical random name memorizing.

who do you have it with??

it sux and i usually tell people to wait till fourth year to take it.

hespenheide who teamed up with a new prof: halpin. i think it was prob halpin’s idea to make the finals non-multiple choice. it consisted of short answers that were ok, matching which i prob bombed because by the time i got to that section, all the RANDOM organism names vanished out of my head (i just flat out blanked out on most of them), a numbers section that was really terrible at least for me since i didnt even bother memorizing the random years, and some crossword puzzle in the end that was ok

and i met some north campus people taking this class for their ge’s and they really really regretted their poor choice

onysomethingphorans! velvet worms! yeah!

nematodes! god they’re so sexy, how you can see their insides and everything!

dinoflagellates. mmm. so yummy. i’d like to eat them all up, with their red tides and zooxanthellae. wowza.

sounds pretty bad… is the same true for Pires?

my favorite is lophotrochophore

my favorite lecture was the fungi one where he kept talking about hyphae and i kept thinking about it out of context the entire time

how stupid, dumb…

^^ hahahaha. i did the same. :D

Hyphae. So awesome. I read my notes for fungi aloud to myself while reviewing for the final so I could hear “hyphae” over and over again.

****ing lophochophotrochophores. And what is a trophosome? God.

in ur opinion, when is the best time to take ls 1? please comment on the profs who teach them too and when they teach.

actually, I believe it was not halpin’s choice to make the final multiple choice. a bunch of students, supposedly, came to the professors and complained that hespenheide’s MCs are too hard and wanted a fill in one. hespenheide even said that most people bomb his fill in exams but decided to comply with the students anyway. I didn’t think the exam was bad at all. although there was too much memorization but that is what LS1 is all about anyways. the number section was, completely ridiculous and unnecessary. and it accounted for so much of the points too…60 points.

Those damned students…why did they open their ****ing mouths in the first place!!!

Oh… they must’ve been premeds.

eyes burn in hatred

@$%^@#$^% premeds #$%@%!@ them @#$@#$@!!!

Why didn’t they survey the class? It makes no sense that they only take the suck-ups’ opinions into consideration @#$!#

EXACTLY!!! ):<):< al;skflk;djfk

Well, it’s just going to depend on your schedule then and what professors are teaching it. LS 2-3-4 are not dependent on what you’ve learned in LS 1. So you can do LS 2 after you’ve done 14A and then go for LS 3 (after 14C) and 4 consecutively.

grades are up. how did everyone do on their final?

thank goodness they didnt give out minuses because i was defnitely at the lower end of a grade!!!

ls 2 through 4 have NOTHING to do with ls 1

Praise science!!!

I think I wet my pants.
