The LSA question is "What led you to
choose the area(s) of academic interest that you have listed in your
application to the University of Michigan? If you are undecided, what
areas are you most interested in, and why?".

However, I'm shooting for preferred admission for business. Is it still OK if I talk about something business related in response to this question?

Yes I believe so, I would talk about how a BBA from Ross would be a great thing and blah blah blah.

I had the same question last year and what i ended up doing is saying that i wanted to do a pre-business track in LSA and then just talked about my interest in business. This essay and my Ross essay had a lot of overlap, but i still got into Ross. So, i think it is ok for the two essays to be similar.

Personally, I think it would sound best to mention Econ or something that’s business related but in LSA, unless you are in a league so high that you’re likely to get into Ross.
