we really need your unweighted GPA, since that's the one they look at. Also, I take it that you are a Canadian living OUTSIDE of Michigan, correct?

yeah. I live in Windsor, Ontario. It's about 1 hour from the University of Michigan campus. I have always dreamed of attending U of M. I have several relatives who have graduated from their medical school, business school and undergraduate colleges. Nevertheless, I will be paying fat cash for out-of-state. As for my GPA, my councilor told me that she calculated it and it was 4.0 (I am not sure whether it is weighted or unweighted). In my school, we have number grades out of 100. I know my overall averages in grades 9, 10 and 11 were 91, 92 and 93 respectively (Dean's List all three years). I am not sure whether I should hold off on the early response and apply regular decision in an attempt to raise my SAT scores.

I don't think you have a 4.0 unweighted (that would mean you received perfect scores all thoughout school), but your counselor could be right, I am not familiar with that grading scale. I would say you are probably a match/slight reach (it's a little hard to tell w/o ECs), just because of your OOS status. Essays will definitely make a difference. As for waiting, I would say if you think you can get your scores up quite a bit, go ahead and hold off. If not, just apply.
