So I got into Michigan and am curious about the Honors Program. Is it worth it to apply there/ what are the benefits that come from getting in?
I heard it’s great- great opportunities. Similar benefits can be reaped by joining the right learning community as well, in my opinion.
I’m a freshman in the honors program. The 2 best benefits: more personal advising and the option of living in South Quad. It’s freezing out right now and I am so close to most of my classes. South Quad also has some of the biggest freshman rooms on campus. On the flip side, South Quad doesn’t have air conditioning.
@96blue Would you prefer being a freshman in South Quad rather than a place with more freshman, say Bursley of Markley?
South Quad. I love being on Central Campus: no buses, better food, plenty of freshman. I spent a week living in Markely during high school and I had no desire to ever live there again. The rooms are tiny, very tiny.
Oh and South Quad is the closest dorm to the Big House, Crisler and Yost. Squad dining is slammed on home football mornings as everyone stops by to eat on their way to tailgates.
I did research and heard the food was better haha
@96blue what about extra job opportunities/interships, stuff like that?
I haven’t really noticed much difference in that area but there are plenty of opportunities for everyone.
