LSA Honors

I was just wondering how long it actually took for them to respond with their decision for people? Also, do they respond to rejects?

About 3 weeks, I was accepted, so I can’t answer your second question. From what I’ve heard and read, it’s not that difficult to get in.

If I am accepted that will definitely easy.

But I heard there will only be 150 in the program, how can it be easy?

500ish… not 150

I sent in my application Feb 15 and I got my acceptance email March 13. So Mine was close to a month, but I’m assuming the average notification time is about 3 months. Plus, remember that there are going to be some honors students that might not go to UMich at all.

Mine was about a week…so anytime b/t a week and 3 months?

according to one of the higher-ups at the honors program, it takes about 2-3 weeks (on average). If you’re not a clear yes, they put you in a “take another look” pile. However, they should start sending them out quicker (so he said) as the deadline approaches.

yeah, ironically i got accepted like 24 hours after i asked this question, so it took me about 2 weeks, but does anyone know how the people are in the honors dorms, because I want a freshman experience, but I also would like having people that are in the same type of classes as me

I just got in today! It took me a week, so I assume that it takes less time during the end of the process. Yeah, I’m also wondering about the dorms. Also, are they nicer than the others, or does it just ensure that your roommate is in the Honors pogram?

All i know is that they arent nicer and it just ensures that your roomate is in honors and you get a sweet area of campus. I decided not to because i know the dorm that they live in is composed of many sophmores and juniors and i want to be a in a freshman dorm, and franly, from the small amount of people that I saw at the honors information session some of them seemed to be more academically focused than I want from the people around me.
