How easy is it to transfer cross-campus to the CoE? I’m applying to LSA because its relatively easier to get into but I want to study mechanical engineering at Michigan. I would like to be able to do it as soon as possible (if I’m admitted) so I might not need an extra semester
My plan would be to try first or second semester. I know there are prerequisites for engineering as well
Anyone?
You need 2.5 GPA and appropriate classes including those below, or AP equivalent. You’ll need ‘5’ in chem and physics for full credit. If you don’t have a lot of AP credit this is going to be difficult to do until 3rd semester or later. Are you sure that you don’t want to apply to engineering initially? It is a lot easier to transfer to LSA.
Calculus: MATH 115 and MATH 116
Physics: PHY 140 and PHY 141
Chemistry: CHEM 130/125L/126L or CHEM 210/211L
Computing: ENGR 101 or EECS 183
English:Any one of the following courses:
CLCIV 101 or 121
COMPLIT 122
ENGLISH 124 or 125
GTBOOKS 191
HISTORY 195
LHSP 125
RCCORE 100
SLAVIC 151
HONORS 241.001
HONORS 241.020
HONORS 240.001
Well the point of applying to LSA is that its easier to get into than engineering. I’m worried that even with my newest ACT score that I will get denied. I’m taking it on the 22nd. Unless I feel like I did great on math and science (33+), which is a possibility, I feel that my best shot is applying for comp sci and eventually transferring. I’d have a week to change the college I’m applying to before the EA deadline.
The point of this thread was to get opinions, so what do you think my best bet is?
