Do you think it is that much harder to get into engineering vs. LSA?

Depends. Are you a female?

It’s obviously harder to get into Engineering. It’s just a more competitive pool of applicants. But what’s the point of this argument anyway? People who wanna study one of the LSA majors will apply to LSA, people who wanna do engineering will apply to Engineering.

No. Not a female and I would be applying to LSA. The point is I won’t have to match the stats of someone that is applying to engineering. I am applying next year and am going on this site to try and decipher what stats I might possibly need for admittance and don’t want to get scared off by the genius engineering applicants!

apply to engineering if your math/science records are good. If you are lacking in, say, english, don’t apply to LSA.
Each school’s looking for different types of applicants, so you might be a good fit for one but not the other.

Apply to the school that offers the degree you want.

And most of those websites that offer stats on applicants are gonna be out of date now. Especially with the Common App influence.

^best advice you’re gonna get.

What do you want to study.

If you want to be an engineer, LSA won’t get you there.

If you don’t, engineering school isn’t the place for you.
