I know I need to take a prep course as I've heard the LSAT is wretched, vicious mean and nasty. I am told it will make the unprepared look very foolish. I took Kaplan for my securities license. I was very unimpressed. I've looked at Get Prepped, Princeton Review and Power Score. Unfortunately, Kaplan is the only game in town (Jacksonville, FL). The other two are in Gainesville, Fl about 1 1/2 hour drive from here. Any suggestions ?

Do you have access to Testmasters? I think it is probably the best.

I'm not sure. I have heard of them. Momofwildchild, thank you. Many of my friends think I'm off my rocker for pursuing law school. To them I say, at least I have the guts to pursue my dream regardless of age.

Try to find a Powerscore course or at least get their books...they are supposed to be the best.

I took Kaplan's "LSAT Extreme" 3 month course and think it was worth every penny. No course will do the studying for you, but participating in a structured, weekly regiment makes a huge difference. In the LSAT Extreme course, we had class for 4 hours twice per week, plus took a timed, proctored actual LSATs 6 times over three months. I would do it again, hands down.

Aspiringlawyer, how much did this set you back ? I have heard of this course, however I took Kaplan for my securities license and I was unimpressed. I don't know, it may have been the instructor, plus this was only a 3 day course.

Testmasters or Powerscore. However, I would highly recommend skipping a course and self-studying with old real, practice tests that you can order off lsac.org and just work on these, completely timed.

I have some old tests that a neighbor gave me. I'm going to apply at Florida Coastal in Jacksonville, George Mason and possibly University of Richmond. Youy maybe right.
