LSAT Score

Hey guys,

I'm a junior in UCLA with GPA of 3.9 majoring in political science. I took a practice LSAT just for the heck of it during the summer. I've never seen LSAT ever in my life, didn't even know what was going to be on the test, and all that jazz. I got 152 after completely bombing the puzzle one. I probably just guessed on 90% of them. With that said, I plan on taking some extreme LSAT prep courses with Kaplan or Princeton and take the actual test next June (2011). I really want to go to law school, but that 152 is staring at me in the face every time I think about it. Any idea how much I might improve? Or any advice on what sort of courses to take, what books to buy, etc? Thank you in advance!

I think 10 point increase is always a good, realistic goal. But some people do improve more than that, and you certainly can. Also, logic games is the easiest to improve upon. I’m in the midst of my studying and my lsat preptest was a 167 up from my 159 completely cold diagnostic like yours. My goal is 172, but i’d be happy with a 170. I plan on taking mine in october. I would recommend putting off studying until during/after christmas break. It’s too early to really hit the studying hard. I think a solid 4 months of hard studying is better than a year of not so focused studying. If you can take a formal logic class at UCLA, it will help, and the best books/course is the powerscore stuff. Also, check out LSAT blog or google pithypike for decent study schedules. Don’t worry, mid 160’s, even maybe a 170, is attainable.

Thank you very much!

Just out of curiosity vvkk, how did you ever do in your June 2011 test?
