If my testing center is full and I am placed on the waitlist, am I guaranteed a seat at a testing center less than 100 miles away or am I just placed on a waiting list for a seat at one of those places?(and no guarantee) I've heard both.

Thanks!

I have registered for the June exam... but am on the waitlist for a published location. I would rather not add the $230 to get a nonpublished site if I am guaranteed a published site. I also could change my testing location to an open location but they are way more than 100 miles away.

Do you know if the waitlist provides a guarantee?

Just FYI... I called them today and the response they gave me was basically... you're not guaranteed but they've NEVER had anyone not be placed at a testing location who was on the waitlist.

You're guaranteed a spot within 100mi. They open up new test centers (or more seats at existing test centers, perhaps) to accomodate the waitlist. I was waitlisted last year and went through the same confusion (I think I have the same question posted in the archives somewhere)!

(ETA: Just read the note above mine. When I called last year, I was told that I was guaranteed, so I guess they're confident enough in the advice they gave you to tell me otherwise. The point, regardless, is not to worry about whether or not you'll get in. And since this is June and not December, the good news is that it's probably--though I don't know your situation--not the end of the world, regardless, though I'm sure it would be inconvenient.)

I got placed into a location within the 100 mile requirement but it's right on the outskirts of that requirement. It kind of bugs me that I have to make a 2-3hour trek to take the exam when my local college(like 5 minutes away) is proctoring it as well.

... I guess that's what I get for waiting too long.

Same story. It's a pain, but there's not much to be said at this point. Consider getting a friend to stay with you in a cheap hotel near the testing center...save you some sleep and stress. My center was pretty far away and I don't have a car, so my best friend drove me, brought a bunch of work and pleasure-reading, and stuck out the morning in a local coffee shop. When I was done, I bought her lunch (on top of Starbucks en route to the test) and we went shopping. Later she was in a similar far-away-audition situation and I repaid the favor by tagging along to keep her company and help her find the place. You'll figure something out...I hope it works out :)
