Lsp

Hey guys can people who got accepted into LSP let me know. I am very nervous and was wondering how many of you got into the program. Thanks

did you get in today?
i wish my mail would come...

no i did not. just wondering. when do you think we'll get it in the mail? they said they were sending a second round out later last week.

yeah, i'd assume today or tomorrow.
this is so nerve wracking.
i've been in tears twice today.

ive also hear it might be as late as wednesday...grrr

wednesday is late.
this is awful.
really horrible.

what are the stats of people that got into general studies?

If by LSP you mean Liberal Studies Program, I got in.

I'm not particularly happy about it. It's just their way of saying "oh you're good; but not good enough. So here's a treat for trying anyway."

What's so good about it? I can't study abroad in the place I want and I can't take all the classes I want either.

Someone please prove me wrong if I'm incorrect. I don't mean to sound like a jackass about being accepted into LSP.

my sister is in GSP(lsp) when she was a frosh/soph. it didnt effect her at all and in fact she got into CAS and traveled to Argentina her Junior year, and is now on the deans list. Be happy that you got excepted

accepted* sorry about the spelling

well i am very worried about this. people are getting theirs in the mail and im afraid i wont get in unless im lsp'd. I would be very happy with it. So when did you get your letter?

My other friend from my school got LSP'd in addition to my other friend who found out the day after Thanksgiving. I am the only one remaining...

SRC180, thanks for responding. I just researched on the featured thread about GSP (now LSP) and I feel better.

So I got accepted into my top school but it surely has been an awkward experience. When my mom told me about it, I was confused. I read the letter twice, became upset, then did research and now I feel more enlightened.

The real issue is- I hope I can still do East Asian Studies with my pre-med requirements. I hear that double major is difficult in LSP and I'm going to the info session this Wednesday and I dearly hope I can pursue my interests. I'm also in a peculiar situation. I want to transfer to different university all together after I'm done with my LSP requirements, and I feel that I might need to spend a 5th year at college because LSP has put me in a strange situation.

Hallelujah anyway!

Ya-Alim, did you get in today?

^^ yeah, I did.

If you didn't get yours, it might be because NYU sends out the letters based on who applied first and so on. My friend submitted her NYU application a week before mine and she got her LSP acceptance 2 weeks ago- the day after Thanksgiving. I just got mine today.

i got accepted today!

Nice!

I'm slowly becoming ecstatic! This is an odd experience for me.

I NEVER knew this day would come. Being the youngest, I always saw my brothers go through the college process and never thought this day would come for me. But I'm in! And to my top school!

I'm only 16 right now (going on 17 next Sunday) so I can't study abroad in my first year!! (I have to be 18 by Aug 1. 2009)

Oh well, at least I'm in!!

Congrats to everyone!

i'm kind of scared of lsp though.. my parents think i shouldnt wast all the money on the lsp program, but i kinda want to go still. what do you guys think of lsp?

also.. ya-alim did you get any financial aid info? i didn't get any in my envelope thing. when will they let us know?

The LSP program isn't a waste, I would almost rather get accepted to that than the CAS (partially because I want an answer now!), because you get two years to explore all sorts of subjects, and when you graduate, you will be much more knowledgeable in general.
