LSU Admission.

Hi, I am about to start my senior year in high school. I attend a private high school in Baton Rouge. I am really concerned about my chances of getting into LSU.

I currently have an overall GPA of a 3.093, and I took the ACT 3 times and received a score 21.
I took a two week class to better prepare me for the ACT and my score went up only 1 point. ( First two times I got a 20)

I also have a brother, cousin, and uncle who all graduated from LSU.
What are my chances of getting admitted? I am extremely worried and I don't know what to do now....I have a few extracurricular activities and my high school is one of the best in Baton Rouge..but I am not sure that will matter much.

ANY comments would help me greatly. I have asked many people and some say "you won't get in with that." Others say "You'll get in." I lean more toward the first opinion. :(
HELP!

You’ll get in. Retake the ACT if you’re that worried about it, but you’re in state and LSU isn’t the most competitive school. Also, you go to a private school, that always seems to help. I think you’ll be fine.

Thank you for replying. I am hopeful too. I read somewhere that LSU takes the highest score from each section on each test and combine that to get a new score…I don’t think that is true, but if it is I’ll have a 22.

I would take the ACT again, but LSU APP day at my school is Aug. 31 and I just don’t know!

You’re cutting it real close. 3.0 GPA and 22 ACT minimum to be considered. I don’t think you’ll be accepted until after mid-term grades. Get your ACT up. Practice the Real ACT and Princeton Review Cracking the ACT.

I took the Princeton Review course for the June ACT. It helped me increase my math score by 4 points english by 2. I guess I should take it again.
I am also getting a teacher recommendation from one of my English teachers.
…I guess I’ll need backup schools!

Also, if anyone knows if LSU super-scores the ACT let me know please!

I think your problem might be timing. You need to take practice tests to work on that.

True. I am concerned a great deal, but LSU isn’t extremely hard to get into. I also think I can get that 22 next time.
