LSU Admissions C/O 2024

Wait really! Are you from Louisiana… I really find that as odd mostly everyone I know only received acceptance letters or are still waiting for LSU to answer (like me). I never heard of that. I think she will almost definitely get in the general amount of people I talk to say anything 1000+ 3.0 plus 21 plus is almost a guarantee.

One of my older friends went to the instant admission decision day and got accepted. It allows admission to have a talk-to-tak with you and have a better understanding of what you are as a person which is hard to translate from paper. I got sent an email regarding it and I’m going. Just 2 more weeks ‘til I know if I’m in or not

Also, I hope everyone still waiting on a decision makes it in

@jakepaluba12 yes, we are in state !

Do you have to be an instate resident to receive the instant admission decision day invite? I’m kind of nervous since I didn’t get it, but I also live in VA. In all honesty I’d make the trip if I had to

@Mkaylaj i am not sure. I would call admissions and ask.

Good morning everyone, any update yet?

@Mkaylaj I am guessing we won’t hear anything till our interview on 2/24- did I read you have already been accepted to tulane? If you can get in tulane you should have no trouble getting in lsu.

@jm1983 I hope so. Tulane is way too expensive so it’s not really an option. I feel like my medical internships really pulled my application through because my GPA is average. I’m not sure if internships and things of that kind are a big influence for LSU. Also I called about the Instant decision day and the lady who answered the phone said that she isn’t sure if it’s just for instate applicants. But you guys have a really great chance of getting in, since face to face interviews definitely have higher success rates!

@Mkaylaj I think you’ll be able to get in. I was checking threads from last year and most people got their decisions during the first week of March. If you got into Tulane, then there’s no doubt you’ll get into LSU. LSU is doing holistic admissions now so I think your medical internships will have the same weight in LSU as to Tulane.

Also I emailed admissions and they said interviews for Instant Decision Day take usually 15 minutes, in case somebody wanted to know.

*Update * my daughter got her email tonight and had been accepted ! Geaux Tigers !

Where do you check for status?

@Schubby1 You can check by going into your admission portal. Usually you will get an email alerting you of an update in the portal

@Schubby1 you will receive an email from lsu telling you to check your portal and from there you will click on a link

Congrats all! My D was accepted a week before Xmas and is excited!

I did call the Financial Aid office last week about paperwork they needed and they told me awards, merits, etc won’t be going out until end of February.

Just in case anyone is wondering.
