Accepted to LSU but never heard anything from Ogden Honors College. Currently an out-of-state applicant but will be classified as in-state for 2020-21 AY.
Graduated high school in Georgia. Qualified for Zell scholarships. Will have to leave them on the table since my parents have moved to Louisiana.
Originally from Louisiana. Tiger fan from birth. My two older sisters got full rides to LSU. Not feeling the LSU love since I did not hear back from Ogden, even after I wrote them a personal inquiry almost a month ago. Guess it’s time for a follow-up email.
Also, applied to LSU through Common App on 11/20 and was offered admission 11/27. Purple envelope arrived in mail 12/9.
OOS applied Sept 17 and STILL has not heard anything. Anyone else in a similar situation?
You are not alone. Application for our daughter (OOS Freshman Applicant) was sent 10/18 and we have yet to see a response. She’s antsy, but it doesn’t appear many acceptances have been received as of yet and those whom have received theirs appear to have either been very easy affirmatives (exceedingly high gpa and standardized test scores) and/or honors college applicants.
My son applied Sept 25th, accepted Oct 17th. Journalism.
OOS
3.4 UW GPA
27 ACT
Double legacy
No news yet on scholarships. Maybe on the portal? I need to remind him to check!
Does anyone know when we will be notified about merit scholarships?
My son also oos applied 11/1. Have heard nothing. Act 25. Gpa 3.2. Not applying to honors college. Anyone hear when they might be sending word? Will his original admissions portal change if they send word or is it a new link?
@Janbsil - Your son’s admissions portal will not change. He will get an email stating that there is an update. Once he logs into the portal, there will be a “View Update” link just above the “Application Checklist” heading. Click on the link to see the update.
My son just got an email to look at his portal and was accepted!
So excited! My daughter just got the news that she’s been accepted. She applied on September 18. It took nearly a month until she received her invitation to the portal. The wait has been a bit stressful because she meets the published criteria. However, I am so relieved that we received the news when we did. Such a wonderful Christmas present!
Was there any merit money on the site? We didn’t see any?
No merit, yet. Hoping that will come shortly.
Update: our daughter received her acceptance this evening! The wait from 10/18 until now has felt like forever, but I am incredibly thankful the wait resulted in good news as LSU is her top-choice school! Sending good vibes and best wishes to all still awaiting a decision . . . hang in there!
Did she have a 23 or higher ACT ?
@jm1983 she did have a slightly higher ACT than a 23; her score was a 25. Her GPA is right at a 3.5 with honors and a few AP courses. She submitted with a very focused plan to major in landscape architecture and has longer-term paid internship experience in the landscape architecture discipline, which may have helped.
Daughter also received her email this evening:
Applied/Application Received: 11/2
Acceptance: 12/18
GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1250
State: OOS
Best of luck to everyone - Geaux Tigers!
Update ! Just got accepted

I’d like to believe my essay and extracurriculars really pulled through
Congrats to everyone who got accepted and best of luck on those who are waiting to hear back! Can’t wait to go on a campus visit soon!
Our D received her email acceptance last night as well!!
OOS
1210 SAT
3.4 GPA
Tons of extras and leadership.
Congrats all!!
Congratulations to those who have been accepted to LSU! Once accepted, get ready for the emails asking you to commit. I’m waiting for decisions on Odgen Honors College (OHC) and scholarships before I do that.
Tbh, it’s a little frustrating that neither the LSU financial aid office nor OHC will reply to my emails, and I even emailed the directors. I know they are all super busy this time of year, but it’s been one month since my first email. (Okay, end of rant. lol)
Good luck to those still waiting for good news! Geaux Tigahs!
Does anyone know when and how they notify about merit scholarships? It did’t say anything on the online acceptance.
