Lt. Governor of Key Club

I recently became interested in Key Club, and I would love to have a leadership position in it. How would you become Lt. Governor? Also, I'm a junior right now, so would it be to late for me to have a leadership position with Key Club?

Thank you!

Bump please!

I been in Key Club for 4 years, currently the secretary at my school and in order to attain the position you are seeking you have to attend divisional. I believe at divisional probably in February they ask you want to run for Lt. Gov. and the selection is made at the Key Club convention in March. If you don’t get the position you want, run for club officer such as President. Hope this help!!!

I hope you know these positions are very competitive. Often the person was in Key Club since freshman year and had one of the five major roles in their school key club (pres, vice pres, secretary, treasurer , editor). They have often won awards such as distinguished secretary at convention (which you should probably go to if you are serious about this). None of these are really required.

if you want this you better hurry up since most districts I am aware of are getting ready to have their elections soon. Also you must contact them ahead of time as you can’t run off the floor as you can do in your school meetings. You will most likely need to dress up and in our district the candidates had to give 3 speeches with one person being eliminated through a divisional vote in each round.

You probably won’t get it but good luck!!! Hope this info helped.

They aren’t really that competitive in the southwest district. The majority of the Lt. Governors for each specific district ran unopposed.

I was Lt. Governor and now I work as
an assistant to the International
President (Grant Lin). I got your back.

Key Club FTW!!!

Elections are normally at our Spring Rallies/Conclaves in January/February. Please notify your own Lt. Governor as soon as possible. You can also run on the floor if your home Key Club does not already nominate someone.

Depending on the division, running for Lt. Governor may be competitive. I know I personally ran unopposed at the divisional level but two others from my club. Currently, there are five prospective Lt. Governors in my division for the following year.

Also being a Lt. Governor is very time consuming. It’s not just another leadership position. I know I can spend up to 25 hours a week working on stuff depending on upcoming events.
