Lubin House Reception for admitted students

Anyone going tomorrow??

I'll be attending

Im goin 2 the 1 next saturday (if that applied here) lol. Its the Human Ecology 1 and im goin 4 Sports Management

i might go to the whitman one on thursday, but im really lazy and im visiting syracuse next saturday anyways. plus i might not even end up going there because im getting no money.

I wound up helping a friend of mine move out of his house, so I couldn't make it.. If anyone went how was it?? Just out of curiousity, was is the same presentation that you got when you visited the campus??

I t was completely tailored to the specific major. D was very impressed; in fact, I think it may have decided her choice for her.

Yea, then I guess it was the same thing as it was when you visited the campus. They're presentations are very impressive, the first time I saw one in August I was just blown away. I'm definitely going next year, no matter how much debt I'll be in...

I really wish i was as lucky as you guys already knowing that you have been admitted sooo jealous you dont know how good you have it. JJac610 you were admitted for sport management that is the major i applied too and i still havent heard back yet im begining to think i have no chance especially because the presentation for it is next sat. im so upset... just wondering what are your stats? thanks

i got a 1830 on my SATs (all three) have a 3.9 uw and 4.0 weighted just tryin to see if i even compare because i heard that the sport management major is very competitive

Yes redandgold, consider yourself lucky. The sports management program is highly competitive. Four people from my school applied to the sports management program as a first choice and three were rejected flat out from the school because they did not choose a 2nd and 3rd choice and the last person was placed into his 2nd choice. Goes to show how competitive the school in general is and the specific programs that embodies it.

i cant consider myself lucky yet cause i havent been admitted, do u think i have a chance?

I think you still have a chance redandgold. My D doesn't think she'll get sport management, but is hoping for hospitality and will try to minor or if her grades are good, to transfer. I know in the presentation I went to, you fall into their profile. It is extremely competitive, but I think you still have a chance. The wait is horrible, but we will know soon!

I couldn't go. I'm Open Option in Arts and Sciences, hoping to transfer to Newhouse after first year. However, I may change my mind later. Syracuse is my first choice but I'm not sure if I'm going to go. I hope I get to though.

dam lol. Redandgold i gotta tell u… u probly shoulda made it, I had 3.6 GPA UW, 1820 SAT’s. I had 2 really good recs, and an essay that was (apparently) really good as well. Ive already talked 2 ppl that had either lower GPAs, Lower SAT’s, or both than I did. Idk why you weren’t admitted. You def have a chance so dont worry, but then again at that reception I met a lot of Sports Management Majors so it mite be filled. But keep your hopes up!!! Good Luck!!
