Lucid Dreams

Read online articles starting with how to recall your dreams. Keep a journal to write whatever you remember down. Watch Lucid Dream related movies (inception, waking life, etc). It’s different for every person but the more frequent you do those things, the deeper it sinks into your subconcious

I was talking to my friend the other day, who wants to try lucid dreaming, and I wasn’t really aware of what it was but apparently I do it naturally. I haven’t really done anything spectacular, it’s mostly just funny things with people at school. One of the ones I had this week was I had people from my school form a bucket brigade to water the plants… I think the most interesting dream I’ve had is where there was a decree to kill all the rodents in the world (gradually, as to not to mess up the food web ) because I’m terrified of them.

@ AppleBeam

No, your haunted. I googled it.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

And what reputable online research have you discovered?

AppleBeam, it’s just a symptom of harmless sleep paraysis/hypnogogia.

^Oh, Thank Goodness. I really hope that’s the case. For a minute there I was really considering the fact that I could be haunted. It would explain a lot. . . :)

Don’t listen to dblazer. The all powerful wikipedia states that demons and hags sit on our chests at night and try to possess us.

Helps to not sleep on your back, and reduce stress before you sleep, to lower the chances of sleep paralysis.

I’ve never heard of not sleeping on your back. That’s a unique method

Some girls like anal, they fall asleep not on their back.

^When they actually are sleeping at night ;)

That’s all you need for lucid dreaming

Oh, and don’t forget your inception machine!

That’s normal sleep paralysis. StraightsJacket is being a ■■■■■. “I googled it” is not a citeable source, and neither is wikipedia (especially if there isn’t a specific article). Plus, although what you described might be symptoms of haunting, they’re exactly what you feel in sleep paralysis. The big difference is that sleep paralysis is real, while hunting is not.

Not really, it was around a year ago.

StraightsJacket (edited to clarify who I mean) is a ■■■■■, don’t listen to him. Although I have heard of real people experiencing similar things, usually it’s because the person tried to use drugs to induce a lucid dream (which has about a 50% success rate, and a 50% rate of scary experience (I haven’t tried it, btw)) or had a preexisting psychological condition.

That’s pretty much right. I’m not sure if the REM machine is worth the cost, though. That’s up to you (anyone reading this post) to decide.

What type of people do you define as ■■■■■■? Neither me nor straightjacket fit that description, a ■■■■■ is a person who makes a statement to purposely trick people. I apologize for having sounded inconsiderate. But I don’t think he was using some form of drug (although I can’t speak for him) I think he just had a subconcious form of pain.

I’m not talking about you, I’m talking about StraightsJacket. Sorry to confuse. I’ll edit my post to clarify.

EDIT: If you’re wondering why, I’m calling him a ■■■■■ because he tried to convince AppleBeam that she was being haunted by citing google and wikipedia (but no article). @StraightsJacket, if you are sincere, I apologize. But If so, please defend yourself. I would like to see a source.

EDIT2: and I didn’t say it was necessarily a drug. I said usually it’s because of either a drug or a preexisting psychological condition.

Oh ok, thank you for your clarification

I’ve had quite a few lucid dreams, but I didn’t know there was a coined term until now.

I recently had a dream wherein something disagreeable happened, which made me realize that I wanted to stop the dream. I physically shifted in bed, and woke up.

Other times I’ve been lazier and just told myself in the dream that what was happening wasn’t real, but I didn’t bother to end the dream.

Couple things, your right about the definition of a ■■■■■.
I’m not sure what doesn’t scream “joke” in my haunting and wikipedia posts. I’m sure AppleBeam knew, if not, sorry bro.
Next, I never said I had felt pain in my dream, only the feeling of constricted breathing.

Sheesh, such serious sams here.

Oh, my bad. Constricted breathing can occur in dreams.

Last night I had another lucid dream. When I realized i was dreaming, I wanted to try flying or something, but as soon as I tried to fly, everything went white and i woke up D: Anyone find themselves having this problem when you try to fully control your dream? normally when i lucid dream, I let the dream continue and don’t really interfere.

^
Sleep at the edge of your bed next time you try to fly, works better.

I had one recently, and I didn’t need any dream signals. It might have been WILD because I woke up at 4 and had it betwen 4 and 5:30. I was in a fusion of the casinos at Las Vegas but it had that cobblestone floor like you’d find at the Paris. I even found a Galaga machine and the sound was identical but I recall the opening screen was “Game Over” instead of Level 1. I could actually maintain it but whenever I tried to, say, go out and kiss someone it started to fade. So I had to stay focused on creating the dream and keeping myself inside it. Oh yeah I did use the method of spinning around in your dream to stay there
