I guess I'm a "lurker" now. I "posted" a few times last Spring.
I've been lying low - waiting to exhale....
My son, a senior, is coming to the end of the audition process.

I exhaled today for the first time in a long while - our d just finished this afternoon with the last of her auditions! It feels really good to breathe!

Alas, you've discovered me!
And after I took such fervent strides to avoid being exposed.
All right-- I'll admit it!
Although I've posted a little I've been a lurker for about 7 months and I've learned so much as a result of reading this forum.
Everyone is so knowledgeable and I honestly wouldn't have gotten through this whole process without this site.
I still have one more audition for OCU to go and am near the end of my audition season and hope for a positive outcome!
:D Thanks

I think I would be considered a lurker :-) I post every once in a while - mostly on the threads pertaining to Florida State University School of Theatre (my place of employment) I am very happy to answer any and all questions about the MT program...or Acting & BA for that matter. If you come to audition, be sure and introduce yourself!

I originally found CC about two months ago when a prospective student asked me about something she had read here. I check in every few days just in case there are questions.

I am also a veteran lurker. I just wanted to say to All4FSU - if you are the department chair whom my daughter and I met with on the spur of the moment last Wednesday - thanks so very much for your time and consideration. You were very encouraging and my daughter enjoyed finding out first hand what is involved in the audition process for FSU.

I'm not the department chair, but I am the person with whom you met. It was a pleasure and I look forward to seeing you next winter :-)

Thanks so much All4FSU - you are very kind.

Yeah I decided to lurk, you are the craziest mom I know!

You have no idea...well maybe you do :o

i think she knows. we all think you are quite the crazy mom!!!

I lurk because I stumbled onto this forum when I was seeking information on NFAA last year, and although my S is a musician, I find the information on all your talented MT kids so wonderful and fascinating to read about. Living vicariously, I suppose......

razorback-
Touche' :)

I have been lurking here for a couple of months during which time my son was auditioning. I don't remember how I found this site, but I did want to thank the posters for the wealth of information I have gleaned. It has also been very helpful in putting some perspective on this crazy, competitive process. Information about my son, Gavi, is that he was accepted to CCM MT and to BW MT. We're waiting to hear from other schools, but we're thrilled about his opportunities so far.

Thanks again to those who have taken the time to write such informative, encouraging and often inspiring posts.

I feel like Alice falling into the other side of the looking glass! This is my first post. Hello to all of the MT CC'ers!

I've been quietly reading your posts for 6 months, learning so much from all of you. This is a generous community and I am very grateful for the inspiration and support you've shared.

My D, a junior, is a hopeful MT candidate. It's wonderful that we can all go through this strange journey together.

mizlyn...glad you posted! My d is a junior too and it will certainly be nice to have people to share the journey with!

kathie (kaysmom)

welcome mizlyn, my D is also a junior and I can relate to the strange sensation of actually relating to people through "a Machine". It must be how my grandmother felt about riding somewhere in a car. She always thought that people would die if they went over 35 mph.
Harriet

Hey Mizlyn!

Welcome to the world of MT and CC....best thing most of us have ever found! A place to learn, rant, and commisserate!

And evasmom- I laughed when I read your grandmothers words- too funny! I hope maybe to meet some cc's as my Junior D and I begin this strange and mysterious MT journey!

MikksMom

Kathie and Harriet, thanks for the kind welcome. I hope we all get to know each other better.
Harriet - too funny! Your grandmother sounds like a character!
Lyn

And thank you and howdy to you MikksMom!

Mizlyn my D is also a junior, so I hope we'll meet along the audition trail next year too. I know evasmom since we are from the same area, and I've talked to kaysmom. Mikksmom, haven't had the pleasure yet, but hopefully we'll all see each other with our daughters next year!
