Lurkers

Register now! Then you too can join the fun..

Don't just read the posts, join in. Look at Ambrosia, entered in the past week and already has 34 posts. Its great fun, relief, and education.

But beware, it can be extremely addictive and could lead to negative effects regarding your studies (ie procrastination). Before, I too was a lurker and probably procrastinated about an hour in total. As a registered member, bonafide to respond, my procrastination most likely totals 2 hours. So beware, lurkers!!

yeah, definitely take mosby's warning to heart

<3 a former lurker

i was a lurker last Jan -

join us! join us! join us!
were fun and were crazy.
our family is at 71 and growing!!

i guess now im a quasi-lurker since i did tell you guys that im here. . . but yeah, im here! does the 71 person family include me? mosby i definitely do hear what you're saying, but im always reading cc anyway-- i dont know if i could procrastinate MORE-- i already don't have time to sleep! basically: im not worried about cc becoming an obsession-- it already is!. . . ill definitely try to participate from now on! it is a little intimidating though. . but you guys make me feel so much less alone through this process, especially since no one knows that ive applied so i have no one else to talk to about this. im so insanely jealous of the people who applied to penn/brown/etc early and get to move on with their life THIS WEEK. -- one more for us guys!! i want to be sedated how are everyone elses other applications? <3

Lurker right here

Can't we be called observers instead of lurkers? Lurkers sounds so stalkerish.

Observers/Lurkers join- you learn so much. I was a lurker for the loongest time (back in teh old cc) and just read. By joining you can ask questions and participate in threads of your interest. In messages boards where i was an observer and then joined, i later regret not having joined earlier.

How's that for advertisement :)

I admit it, I'm a lurker!

But now I'm out!

My name is Jesse and I applied to Yale EA!

Wow... that feels good. :)

Hi Jesse! Add yourself to the EA roster. Welcome!

There we go- I'm officially on the EA roster. It's nice to finally talk to everyone- I was beginning to feel kind of creepy...

Well, hi everyone. My name is Eric and I am now no longer a lurker. A harsh term in my opinion... but anyway, I'm an EA applicant to Yale, so I'll add myself to the roster. Now that I actually posted, it isn't so bad after all. I'm looking forward to actually communicating with my fellow applicants, I just discovered this site a few days ago and consequently here I am. Best of luck come next week!

Hello, Jesse and Eric! Good luck to you both, as well as the rest of everyone and... Yeah. I'll be repeating this every day for another, I dunno, week or so. ;)

hi, i guess i'm a lurker too. my name's Erika and i applied ea....wow that feels like an AA meeting! haha, i'm glad to be out in the open! i'll add myself to the roster...here i go...

ima lurker. i got myself intentionally banned cuz CC was too addictive, but look im back! crap, im late for my wind ensemble concert.

an LA meeting... Lurkaholics Anonymous!

hahaha, how great is this? Everyone coming together! A little hopefully soon-to-be-Yalie unity!

Look at all of the lurkers coming out of the closet (as of now):

ilovepostalservice (4 posts)
afriend (2)
jesseo (6)
snowboardbuddha (7)
moseby (27)

And signifynothing is relatively new as well with only 33 posts (p.s. I don't signify anything by this, maybe your aren't a lurker)

While lurker is a harsh term, you are now all participants who can both learn and contribute to the process.

However, Only 15 people have posted on this page, while it has been looked at 402 times. For you lurkers still out their, give it a try.

Yes, lurkers come to us, we don't bite! I was a lurker a little over a year ago, then I saw the light. But yes, it will cause serious procrastination. Trust me. I lurked for an entire year and thought that was great, but once you join, it's 100x times better than you could ever expect. I have met so many great people, and by being a lurker you don't get to have these relationships with people.

It's hard to let things out of the closet, but as a former lurker who is now offically obsessed, there are people here to help you with this transition from lurker to active poster.
