What's the difference? I know Confounding was an external variable that affects both, but I thought lurking was different? Wiki says they're the same..

Also, difference between Independence and Homogenity tests? Someone explained this to me earlier, but I still don't get it. Neither does my teacher, lol :)

Another question: Is stratified sampling the same as block sampling?

Confounding obscures the relationship between the two observed variables. I believe that a confounding variable is a type of lurking variable since a lurking variable is anything that is not taken into account/controlled.

I’m not really confident on the differences between the two besides what I’ve read that independence indicates that there is a relationship/no relationship between two variables and homogeneity indicates whether or not two distinct populations have significantly different distributions.

Stratified is used when sampling. Blocking is used when designing an experiment. So while they’re basically the same idea, they are different in their uses
