He died today in the early afternoon. He was young to die at 54. For a guy who was singing songs when my parents were teens (in the stone-age), I actually liked some of his songs.

Yeah Vandross totally kicked ass. I was talking with my buddy and I told him I thought Luther V died a couple of months ago, but that was when he just had a stroke.

I was so shocked when I first heard the news...he's a legend and was very influential to me...RIP...

"Heree and nowwww" :)

"always and forever"

luv ya luther

"Dance with my Father" is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. 54 is way to young to die, especially for a man with Luther's talents.

Yeh, but unfortunately he did have severe health problems including diabetes and hypertension. However, he is one of the all-time greats. R.I.P.

Yah, he really struggled with his weight. Back in the day, Luther was HUGE, but he lost it all. I think that he lost too much weight in a short period of time.

RIP Luther Vandross

I love his songs, esp. Dance With My Father (very touching) and I'd Rather.

Yeah my mom was so bummed all of today - and I was too! Way to young...
