To the OP: Aren’t you afraid God might strike you dead?

Geek-mom - That was absolutely hilrious.
To OP - Don’t lie. Don’t you think that you have more integrity than that?

Jesus you guys, read what I said. I’m not going to lie lol. There’s too much at stake if I lie about the slightest thing…READ THE THREAD CAREFULLY.

To Yakyu Spirits - Be that as it may, just cause I’m not Christian doesn’t mean I can’t indulge in the holidays.

Black’s law, your OP is titled, “Lying about your religion?” You then ask “Has anybody actually done this?” You then concluded that you “think it’d be hilarious to blatantly lie about your religious beliefs.” People are responding to this OP. I, for one, was speaking to the audience in general, not to you specifically. We accept that you’ve decided not to lie. Others may be less decided.

So, OP, what kind of lie would you make? Would you say you ARE Catholic? Or would you say you’re something uncommon in an attempt to raise eye brows?

“I don’t take religion seriously and I’d think it’d be hilarious to blatantly lie about your religious beliefs.”

Isn’t this how Bernie Madoff got started? I mean his “religion” was investing in good causes, but still …

Yes. And much of the rest of it pierces like an arrow through the hearts of the charlatans of his day.
