Hey guys,

I was able to find out who my Calculus instructor will be and its Gary Berg. He's supposed to be one of the toughest math professors out there and isn't very approachble and at this point in time all M 408K classes are full so I'm stuck with him.

So, does anyone have any tips for a student who isn't strong in math? I need this course as I want to transfer to McCombs and I wanted to know if there were any tutoring services at UT such as Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions offered for M 408K?

Thanks

Some ideas

1) Use the Learning Center.

2) Form a study group with others taking 408K and do problems together. There might be a way to set this up using Blackboardl.

3) Try to go to more than one discussion/t.a. session a week. You are not officially supposed to go to discussion sessions other than the one you are registered for but I have heard you can sit in on other sections so you can hear discussion twice. Sometimes it is good to hear something complicated explained by a number of different people.

Thanks for the info!
