M.Arch vs MLA after undergraduate BLA

Hey guys, my girlfriend is way too shy to ever post here but I wanted to get her some help for picking a program. She’s been admitted to a variety of prestigious programs for Masters of Architecture and Masters of Landscape Architecture. They’re pretty much all affordable, or very minimal amounts of loans. She already has a bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley College of Design (unaccredited for Landscape Architecture but that didn’t stop her from getting into great grad programs).

She would rather study Landscape Architecture but she is worried that it’s a less marketable degree and she might be giving up opportunities she’s not aware of by doing BLA->MLA. That’s why I’m here asking if there’s any opinions on which she should do.

-She doesn’t think she would ever want to work as a straight up architect - she significantly prefers working in Landscape Architecture (which she does currently). She seems to want to aim for senior designer positions after grad school, because she’s not really interested in having to deal with being a project manager, even if it makes more money.

Any thoughts?

If it helps she was admitted to:
UPenn GSD - MLA
Harvard GSD - MLA
UW CBE - MLA
RISD - MLA
Pratt - M Arch
Parsons - M Arch
Temple:Tyler - MLArch
Northeastern - MDesign (only a 1 year program though)
MassArt - M Arch

All of these gave her enough aid besides RISD and MassArt.

If she wants to be in Landscape, she should go for the MLA. A better salary or opportunities aren’t worth it if they are in a field you don’t want to work.

Upenn and Harvard for free is a hard thing to beat. Our only thoughts were maybe having a M.Arch. could bring something else to the table that sets her apart from purely MLA educated people.
