Hey guys, I just received an email providing information about the M-Bio program. I have been reading the program outline and checking out their site and it seems pretty cool but strict. I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations or experience with m-bio. I'm going to be going into a premed based schedule and wanting to major in either molecular bio or biochem.

I'm also going to take the AP Calc BC, BIO, Physics C, Micro/Macro this year and was wondering if Ap credits transfer to the program.

Hopefully someone can clarify this , im also concerned that the ap credits that i’ll be taking this year wont give me credit for the summer program.

MBIO is less than a year old, so you may want to contact the program directly for some of your questions.

I skimmed the website and this sounds way intense. No car and yes curfew in the summer? Can’t pledge? Various mandatory sessions that sound like they might be weekly? This program might be awesome, but I feel like you can do a lot of these things sans program guidance.

My daughter participated in the M-Bio Program this year and would completely agree that it is very worthwhile. She was in LSA and the RC Program as well. The support that they offer is invaluable when it comes to advisor’s being available when they are needed, help with getting into closed classes that they need to take, getting support for classes they may be having trouble in, with scholarships, etc. The curfew is only for the first summer and she didn’t have any problems with that. When school started in September she was much more prepared, she was familiar with the layout of the school, talking to the professor’s, the educational workload, where and how to get help, etc. As a parent, I highly recommend anyone who has the opportunity to be involved with this program to do it. It is an excellent opportunity and an excellent program!
