So I'm a freshman at Middlesex, and I was a CCer (an embarrassingly avid one, admittedly). I've decided to have a MIddlesex thread to answer any questions y'all have about mx (if you got accepted, waitlisted, or are considering applying for next year). So yeah.... GET PUMPED AND GET AT ME.

Lmfaooo- izzy. CONGRATS!!! I didn’t apply to Middlesex so I’m sure you can infer that I did not get accepted hehe. Just wanted to say congratszzz

oh wait just read the thing again… and I realized u are a freshman. right now. meaning you did not just recently get accepted so…this is awkward…
well i take back my last post and say instead congrats about the acceptance last year…lol.

and polodolly, I picked it because i needed to get away from where i was and go to something infinitely better that would give me an unimaginable opportunity and advantage. Also, I got accepted (you can look at old threads, i was accepted at middlesex, rejected at exeter and groton, and waitlisted by SPS). So yeah.

That said, Middlesex has a small community (which provides benefits), amazing facilities, and top-notch classes (especially it’s writing program, which is arguably the best in the nation).

Thanks. I looked it up on Boarding schools review and it looks awesome
and I ADORE writing! Its my best subject! This school looks like a dream…but also it looks really hard to get into…

yeah im i like all the kids on the team and coach is great and vibe of the school like stellar academics but pulling hair out stress like exeter or andover

Izzy: Thanks for your offer to answer questions. Our son was accepted as an incoming 9th grader. I have a few questions:

Are you happy? I know this seems very basic, but we have heard from a few parents of kids at MX that many kids are not happy. This may be isolated to upper grades (e.g., 11-12).

How do you like the school’s small size? I know there are advantages and disadvantages at small and large schools.

If you are a boarder, what is it like on weekends?

As with any school, there are happy kids and unhappy kids. There are happy days and unhappy days. I have my bad days, but i would say that my time at middlesex has, so far, been awesome. Simply terrific. And I couldn’t ask for more.

How do you like the school’s small size? I know there are advantages and disadvantages at small and large schools.
The size can be a pro and a con- you can have a very close relationship with a high proportion of students, it’s hard to fall through the cracks and you have good relationships with faculty. But gossip spreads like wildfire and there are no secrets. So i guess it just depends on what you value.

If you are a boarder, what is it like on weekends?
Eh, weekends are okay. Honestly, I don’t mind that they’re a bit boring (sometimes- other weekends are FUN) because I’m so tired after a full week and just want to sleep in on Sunday (saturday nights are generally more eventful than Sundays)
sorry these answers are so brief and don’t help, I’ve just written an english essay and I’m dead tired. I WILL revisit this thread sometime tomorrow though and give you better answers.
