I was invited to apply for participation in the M-Sci Academy, which is described as “the LSA component of the Michigan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Academies at the University of Michigan”. With this program comes a “rigorous, yet rewarding” summer program and then support throughout year one and two. There is more info in the letter, yet I wanted to know if anyone else received this letter, or has participated in this program. Any advice on what to do here, what this program really entails, and experiences with this program would be extremely welcomed!

My daughter got the invitation but wasn’t interested in the program (she still hasn’t decided for sure which college she will be attending). One of her best friends is planning to go, though. I guess she gets to go for free because of her being a part of the engineering program (Ford pays?). Too bad physics majors don’t get to go for free too!
That’s really interesting! I haven’t decided on a college yet either, and was wondering if it’s binding (probably is). Either way, I was curious on if it was a competitive program or not; STEM was never a stregth. Good luck to your daughter! I understand the struggle of deciding!
