M&T Program help or hurt?

So I'm a pretty decent student (straight A's, lots of APs, 34 ACT, etc.) but not great so Penn is definitely not a given (my chances of getting in are not the best.) However, I am incredibly interested in both ENG and ECON so do you think it would help or hurt to apply to the M&T program as an opposed to just engineering (backup)?

bump bumpitty bump bump

A few things… First, M&T is management and technology, not econ and tech. The management part is a business degree from Wharton, not an econ degree from the college. Second, if you apply to M&T (or any dual degree) you have to choose a backup school (CAS, SEAS, Wharton or nursing). Finally, if you apply for a dual-degree and don’t get in, it doesn’t hinder your chances at the backup school at all. There’s really no downside to applying to a dual degree.

That’s all I wanted to know, thanks!

Also, your backup option can only be seas or wharton, not nursing or cas
