Why do you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted? I am an international boarding student applying for FA, and my interviews were potentially unimpressive (though I received many compliments from interviewers). The issue I tackled in my app essay could’ve been unsuitable or severely backfired.

Hi, I am a current freshman at Pomfret. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

• Interviews: 9/10
• Essays: idk 7/10?

• English Rec:7/10
• Personal/Extracurricular Rec: 10/10

• Grade Applying For: 9 (repeat)
• Age: 14
• Financial Aid/Full Pay: n\a

Strengths: Music, was “recruited” and placed as top priority by music director in Hotchkiss after sending videos. Breaking stereotypes ig by playing tier 1 & varsity hockey, science research & intern, etc.

Weaknesses: No major awards, no focal point because I have multiple ec’s and strengths but nothing in particular that is my go-to. I also spent a lot of money making videos, website, revising essays, acting preppy ;( which might have went against me.

Why do you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted? My strengths sand uniqueness. I prob was rejected by Lawrenceville cus interview was insanely weird. My interviewing started throwing in curses nonchalantly lmao.

Subjective:
• Interviews: My interviews with Loomis and SPS were pretty good imo, didn’t interview w Groton, Deerfield, Concord, Exeter, Milton, & Lville(scheduling issues)
• Essays: AMAZING
• Math Rec: I asked my science teacher to write some of the math recs since he likes me better, but overall ok
• English Rec: pretty decent, I’m more of a humanities student, and participate more in english
• Personal/Extracurricular Rec: pretty good
• Principal/Counselor Rec: ehh probably decent, I moved schools in 8th grade so the principle doesn’t know me that well
• Sports (if any): tennis and rowing and chess if that counts

Strengths: humanities including philosophy, poetry, literature, history, etc.

Weaknesses: My lack of awards in my ecs, and I didn’t interview with many of the schools, and other hooks except my essays.

Why do you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted?

Because I didn’t interview with many schools, and I didn’t have many crazy awards for my ecs. But I showed interest, stayed in touch, always very proactive and polite. Masterfully crafted my essays to perfection and really emphasized what I am good at.
