M11

How many people are leaving this forum on M11? I have learned a lot but I have to admit that my guilty pleasure ends on M11.

It’s not that easy to leave.

I am just hanging around to hear the end to the movie and then I am so outta here. In the mean time I am very much sucked into the drama.

I have an 11th grader, so been here a while ;). Also have an 8th grader, but as we are only looking at day schools it is a little relevant here.

If hemis accepted somewhere then I I will stick around. Probably will not if there are no acceptances.

i suppose it’s possible people will have choices and may want to use the site for feedback.

Getting accepted is only the beginning of the journey… you could even argue in terms of gestation, it’s the pregnancy test

If you don’t stay past M10, you’ll miss the inevitable “I got into Exeter and Andover and St. Paul’s and Groton and Deerfield, but don’t know how to choose — help me!” posts! :stuck_out_tongue:

My activity level waxes and wanes but I’ll always check in occasionally. I received enough help on the forum that I want to try and give back where I can.

I hope ds gets in and, if so, I will continue to check in. I find reading other people’s journeys to be very informative.

Welcome to the Hotel BS.

This forum was very helpful to me during my early BS years and I feel it is important to jump in around application season to add value when I can.

I might be too sad to come on M10 but will likely return after the dust settles. I really like what everyone has to share - the different perspectives from folks around the different parts of the country are interesting. I feel so small compared to the NY parents who seem to be on a different playing field … I wonder if my DS will feel that way should he be so lucky to attend one of the BS in that part of the country …

Don’t be intimidated, CLNMOM. And don’t sell yourself short. You’d be a breath of fresh air in that crowd.

Many of us were/are outsiders to the prep world @CLNMOM . Please do stick around.

Thank you cameo43 and twinsmama - I’ve never posted on any site ever and am nervous posting here and sharing my questions and comments but overall, everyone seems very supportive and kind and tough love isn’t bad either (smile).

CLNMOM this forum is here to share questions, comments and experiences. The mix of backgrounds is what makes it so interesting and relevant. The same is true of a great boarding school experience.

Me too, what she said!

If we learn more from this process come M10, I feel that we would owe it to the board to come back and share anything we learn.

As I will be formally ending homeschooling and required to withdraw membership from some of my former communities, as a BS parent, this will be where I will hangout for my parent online social things.
