Do any PE majors have an opinion on which Calc sequence better prepares you for M427K and future PE classes. I have the option of skipping 408K and starting in 408L and then doing 408M or I can start in 408C. I have taken AP Calc AB and got a 5 and AP BC calc and got a 4. I could claim credit for 408C and move to 408D but I would like to make sure my calc background is solid. Is there any benefit to doing one track or the other. I would also like to try and get an A. Thanks

Engineers are typically told to take the M 408 C/D route instead of the K/L/M track. Both tracks cover mostly the same material but K/L/M goes slower and more in depth for some portions. The typical students in K/L/M aren’t as good in math as the C/D so it would be less competition for the A. I know nothing about PE classes but I will say that taking the C/D route or the K/L/M route would not have affected my performance in my engineering classes. M 427K goes at an extremely fast pace and covers a lot of material so it would be less of a jump for someone coming off the C/D route than the K/L/M who is maybe not used to the pace.

I normally say go for C/D, but if you’ve taken AB and BC in sperate years, you would be learning things for the third time in 408C. L might not be a bad option for you

How difficult is PHY 303L ? Is AP Physics enough background for this class or should I take PHY 303K first even if I could claim the credit for it? Thanks for the Cacl answers they were helpful.
