I was accepted to a program at a good state school for a Master's in International Public Affiars. I was also accepted at a good private school for a Master's in International Affairs. The former is a "terminal" professional program. The latter is a more traditional graduate program. I was initially leaning towards the Public Affairs degree thinking that it would be more practical although I really do want an academic career. I didn't want to shell out big bucks for a private school. Now the private school (which is not that highly ranked but solid) has offered me almost full funding to go there! I'm tempted to take that offer and get my MA in IR rather than Public Affairs. Is there anything I should be careful about?
