With the idea thoughts of after that getting my masters in Journalism what kind of stats and internships should I looking for? I am looking mostly at applying to Columbia, NYU, Maryland, George Washington, Northwestern and USC.</p>
<p>Are you able to pay for those programs out-of-pocket? I would strongly advise against borrowing significantly for a professional master’s in journalism. The industry is in great turmoil, jobs are scarce and entry-level pay is abysmal at best. Do not stick yourself with $60,000 in graduate debt for a field in which starting jobs commonly pay $20,000.</p>
<p>Stats effectively do not matter in journalism. What you want are strong clips/tweets/video and the accompanying reporting experiences that led to those products.</p>
<p>Idk mate. My friends say the more cost effective way is to get an internship writing and work your way up</p>
