MA program in European Studies

hello everyone! i am doing some grad school programs research and i am wondering whether anyone knows good MA programs in European Studies?
thank you!!

Georgetown certainly is the best. However, if you do apply to the School of Foreign Service there, you must know college-level German. It’s a joint degree with German and European Studies. No exception to that.

If you don’t like German or don’t know the language well, go to John Hopkins or NYU, because they have an entire school or center devoted to European Studies.

Yale has European Studies as well. What do you want to do with the MA? Do you have language background?

The Center for European and Mediterranean Studies (CEMS) at NYU is a Title VI National Resource Center and an authorized grantor of FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) fellowships to both masters and PhD candidates in European Studies. Their program is highly interdisciplinary, with many courses cross-listed with the European language-related departments, as well as with the History, Political Science, and Religion departments and the Draper MA program. Here is a link to their website:

Well I have a working knowledge of French, and I am fluent in Serbo-Croatian and Russian.
I am definitely looking for a interdisciplinary program, and both Yale and NYU look appealing.
But they must be very competitive to get into right? Amazing programs though, thanks for recommending
I would like to go to an intellectually stimulating program that would leave open space for practical application. So I still have not decided between academic focus and diplomacy. I would like to do both:)
I love political science/history and Eastern Europe is especially appealing to me.
Do these programs expect people to publish and do research? Because I am sure I will be able to get an internship in Europe during next two years, since I have contacted people already, but I am not sure whether that is enough.
Thank you for replying it is really helpful.
P.S I go to a small liberal arts school, my Gpa will be anywhere between 3.3 and 3.6 depending on how i do next two years. And I am an international student too. So I do not know what rules apply to us guys :)
